Sexual battery suspect sought in El Cerrito

A man who is suspected of sexual battery on a woman last week in El Cerrito is the subject of surveillance video photographs that police released to the public.

Police said the man is tall and thin, and approximatey 20-25 years old. He has long black hair and was wearing glasses, a black jacket, a red-with-white-design T-shirt, black skinny style jeans and black boots.

According to police, the incident happened in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue, near Creekside Park, around 6:05 p.m. on June 17. Police said a woman was helping her children out of the car, when a man snuck up behind her and touched her inappropriately.

The man then walked away northbound on Belmont Avenue, police said. He appeared to have arrived at the scene from Creekside Park, they said.
